“Nice”

by PushkinLondon

Well we were impressed at our arrival. Great welcome from the staff. We stayed here whilst travelling around the area and so were only there 7pm-7am. Happy hour was great. Only three cocktails but like soft drinks in North America it was free top ups until the end of happy hour.. For those who don’t mind a short walk it was placed conveniently to restaurants. That said taxis are cheap so for a round trip including waiting for us while we ate a taxi for 5 people cost a total of the equivalent of 10USD. The rooms at the hotel weren’t huge but perfectly adequate.
All in all this was a nice hotel to stay in. Would stay here again.

“Boutique hotel that really is small! Great Food”

by SueMo27

Try to get a room that has a balcony/ terrace otherwise the rooms are dark and facing a brick wall ( albeit the area has been turned into a nice outside shower. Rooms are small but well designed. As usual in Burma a great shortage of hangers!
Massage and small gym are excellent. The restaurant is very good, great Indian food as well as Myanmar and European favourites.
All in all a great place to stay in Mandalay even with poor internet .

“Character boutique hotel with great food”
by fussytravellerSussex

A small character hotel near the Royal Palace. We checked in early after an early flight from Yangon. We were welcomed by very friendly staff and shown to our room immediately. We had asked for a double bed – they had achieved this by pushing two singles together but this meant that one side was up against a wall making access difficult. The size of the room meant that this could not be improved. The en suite bath and shower were well equipped. Like the rest of Burma, a lot of dark teak is used in construction. Our room had a small balcony for viewing the gardens and pool, not really large enough as a seating area. The hotel restaurant has a selection of types of cuisine however the Indian food is superb. There is a glazed viewing area of the tandoor part of the kitchen. Breakfast was served in the restaurant and was good but limited in choice. Internet speed was limited, as is common in Burma.
